Problems and Perception: An Ocean Of Opportunity

When we have lost all hope, it is when we must push harder to succeed.

When I envision my past, present, and future as described prior, I focus on what is happening today. Every single thing I am dealing with is one drop in an ocean of opportunity.

The ship will not sink. There will be rough waters we need to navigate. Our ship can get so rocky that we think we should abandon it. This is not us. We can weather any storm or hardship thrown our way. The ship must continue on its path towards opportunity.

As the captain of this ship, we can not let ourselves or our crew (family and friends) become shipwrecked. No matter the problem, we must be able to regain control and steer the ship towards the promised land. The path will not be easy. Remember, we do not let hardships hinder our progress. If parts of our lives seem to be tougher than others, it does not affect our entire existence. When you had a bad day at work, you leave the bad day at work. Also vice versa, we do not carry troubles from home into any other aspect of our lives.

A trick I have found is to not multitask my problem-solving. Every issue has a solution. We will solve them individually. Whenever I would try to tackle a bunch of problems at one time, I got nowhere. A lot of the time they need more than surface-level solutions. I take a deep dive into the roots and let the resolutions manifest the deeper I go.

You know what they say, time heals all. You need to let it run its course both physically and mentally to absolve yourself of the problem.

When working on yourself exam the entirety of what you are trying to solve. Observe the problem at every angle. Personally, I take a step back and see how my subconscious represents my problems. What created them and how they affect my life.

Which comes back to our brains and the stories they tell. We may think we have a rational solution but most of the time we do not. Our subconscious is pumping us full of emotions at all times. This is why we find ourselves in the same predicaments for days, months, or even years.

I want you to slow everything down and analyze what is really going on. Most of the time when we think we are only knee-deep, we are actually in over our heads.

Give the issue at hand as much time as needed to resolve. The trick is to keep the focus on it and not move on to the next until we finish the problem at hand.

The first step is to say to yourself out loud, “What is the deep-rooted reason for this problem?” We want to be in a place of nonjudgement so we see everything clearly. Allow yourself to dive deep into the roots. You will realize that this is another problem that will fade in time. We have come this far, we can overcome another drop in the ocean of opportunity.
