Stream Issues? Go Live Anyways!

Stream Issues? Go Live Anyways

Have you ever started your stream and things go wrong?

Your internet goes down or your stream doesn’t look as good as the day before?

Are you not feeling energetic and don’t want to entertain on certain days?

Things are not always going to go according to the way you planned them in your head.

You put so much time into the background work. Making sure everything is perfect for that moment when you hit the Go Live button.

And then, once you are live, the stars don’t align and everything doesn’t go well in your eyes.

Your Audience Is There For YOU!

This is a problem I face with nearly every stream. Being a small streamer, we want everything to be as top notch as we can.

The reality is that the audience still shows up no matter the size.

People take time out of their day to see YOU. They come in for the enjoyment you bring to the table not the perfection of the content.

Another reality is that your audience may even love those pieces of content the best. They see you care about what you are providing them and strive to put out the best material.

When you are going through technical difficulties it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t produce.

Problems will arise as they do with anything.

Your audience may even love it more because of the fact that you went online amidst problems. They know you are going through a technical difficulty yet you still decided to show up for them.

Stop letting circumstances outside of your control prohibit you from producing. Not everything is going to be perfect every time.

Instead, put the focus on learning from mistakes or difficulties. Google how to better produce your content and get back in the ring the next day. And please, hit that Go Live or Publish button even during times of imperfections.

Some of the best creators in the world have put out their best work when they thought it was shit.

Quality is subjective. This means that everybody isn’t going to judge your work with the same eyes. Especially your eyes if you have the perfection lenses on all the time. Everybody is different.

Focus On The Creation!:

When we are first starting out we don’t focus on perfection. We just want to create.

When we keep that mindset of producing for the sake of creating, we create out of our hearts and not our minds.

We produce for the joy it brings others and our community.

Stop Comparing Yourself To Others:

Once we figure out the technical side of things we begin to compare ourselves to others. People that have already figured it out.

We then become the worst critic of everything we are doing. Sometimes choosing to not do anything at all.

I am going through this problem right now on my own stream on Mixer. My PC is 4 years old and can’t send out the highest of high-quality streams.

I will be fixing that this year when I can afford a new rig. But does that mean I sit around and do nothing up until that time? Fuck no.

Does this mean I let down the community I have started to build? The people that show up every day and are there for me? No.

My audience follows me because they get something from my content that they don’t anywhere else. They take time out of their lives to hang out with me.

We have things running in our minds that people might not even care about.

The audience doesn’t see the little failures happening in the background. They see the show you deliver to them day in and day out.

Always Be Positive No Matter The Issues:

It is a difficult task overcoming needing everything to be perfect.

Don’t get me wrong, we should be striving to learn something for our craft every day.

But this is NEVER an excuse to not put in the work.

Always remember, at the end of the day, we are there to entertain and uplift our viewers.

If I affected somebody in a positive way through my content than I fulfilled my purpose for that day.

In conclusion, we all want our content to be the best it can be. Realize that we are not always the best judge of what is quality in someone else’s eyes.

When we decide not to produce we are not only sabotaging our own creativity but the enjoyment of others.
